Charli XCX is gearing up for a substantial big screen onslaught in 2026, starting with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
Within the project, the artist portrays what she refers to as a hell version of her own persona.
It’s the truest representation of the entertainment world that I’ve ever witnessed, the star commented.
She clarified in a discussion: It’s not a tour documentary, but the idea originated from the pressure to create one.
The initial preview, released on this week, mixes actual recordings from her recent tour with fictionalized behind-the-scenes moments.
The Moment is overseen and co-authored by her collaborator, who shared that the plot focuses on a scenario where the singer took completely different paths in the promotion of her smash hit album Brat.
The film is just one of many upcoming film appearances for Charli, who recently starred in three independent movies recently.
Additionally took on her own role in the humorous show Overcompensating.
The following year will also feature the artist with Olivia Wilde in sensual story I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.
Additionally, she signed on to star in the star’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.
I’m thoroughly loving my foray into acting, she stated. I’m incredibly motivated at the moment in this area, and I only ever want to do projects that excite me.
February will also see the debut of the filmmaker’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will include fresh tracks from the singer.
She is also set to provide music for the story Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released next year.
The Moment is set to premiere on the 30th of January.
